2015 First Nations Language Keepers Conference

November 24, 2015 @ 8:00 am - November 26, 2015 @ 5:00 pm

The Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre (SICC) is dedicated to language and cultural preservation and restoration. We are currently planning our First Nations Language Keepers Conference (FNLKC) to be held November 24 – 26, 2015. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the FNLKC. We have been fortunate in the past to have had support from organizations like yours and this year we are asking for your assistance again.

The conference began 10 years ago and has grown to serve the First Nations and non-First Nations communities. The conference serves the communities by bringing together participants to share best practices and to disseminate educational language programs, resources and other recent developments. We are host to over 400 people annually including educators, linguists and language developers who rely on the FNLKC to network, liaise and gather information relevant to their language and cultural needs. This year’s theme is

‘Stories from the Community: Celebrating Language Success’ and is intended to highlight and promote community initiatives and endeavors.
