Knights of Columbus Indoor Games

The Knights of Columbus Indoor Games held in Saskatoon will be celebrating the 52nd Anniversary of an Indoor Track and Field event that brings local elementary and high school students together with international track and field stars. This year, the event will be more inclusive by providing an opportunity for our inner city youth to both, attend the event, and secondly, to meet and hear the athletes discuss their journey to success. 2017 Provincial Mens Curling Championship

February 1 - February 5

The 2017 Provincial Mens Curling Championship is a 12 team curling championship featuring the top 12 mens curling teams in the province. The winner of this five day event advances to represent Saskatchewan in the Brier in St. John's Newfoundland. During the five days, the Tisdale hockey arena will be turned into a four sheet curling rink. The event includes curling draws, draw to the button contests, two cabarets and a player luncheon. Prince Albert Raiders Wish Game

February 3

 The PA Raiders Wish Game takes place on Friday, February 3rd.Wish families from Prince Albert and surrounding areas will gather for a pre-game social in which food is provided. Families are then provided with tickets to watch the game. One of the wish children gets to be involved in a ceremonial puck drop along with the sponsor and a representative form Children’s Wish.

Nakota Oyate Community Cultural Days

The Nakota Oyate Community Cultural days are held at the community school each year during the winter break in February. The theme is "Strengthening your identity". The main focus is on the importance of language and culture; therefore, workshops cover roles and responsibilities, the importance of using our language, values and morals, work ethics, and understanding spirituality. Facilitators will be brought in from other Nakota communities to share their knowledge. The Rock the River Cup is the Prairie Lily Curling League's first ever annual Bonspiel. This event will rock Saskatoon's LGBT community with over 150 curlers from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as well as other provinces. This event is focused on the competitive edge of gay sports as well as those who are out for a good time. The Annual First Nations Provincial Spelling Bee (FNPSB) will be held in Saskatoon at the St. Mary's Wellness and Education Centre on Friday, March 24, 2017. It is hosted in partnership with Spelling Bee of Canada (SBOC). The FNPSB is an extension of the regular literacy program. This program will have impacts beyond the FNPSB. They, fought in every theatre in which Canadian forces took part, and more than 1,000 status Aboriginal servicemen lost their lives on foreign battlefields.
