Pleasant Hill Community Pow Wow

The Pleasant Hill Community Pow wow was implemented to provide an opportunity for all residents in the Pleasant Hill Community and the City of Saskatoon and surrounding area to come together and celebrate a Traditional Cultural Pow-wow. The Pleasant Hill Community Pow wow has an estimated attendance of 2000 people each year.  It gives people a chance to be proud of their culture and to share the teachings of the Aboriginal Culture to non-Aboriginal people. Smudge Walk 2015

Smudge Walk 2015 will be held on June 1, 2015 in Regina.  The walk will consist of a morning pipe ceremony, greetings from speakers and sponsors, the annual smudge walk, a free BBQ for all attendees, entertainment on the stage and local community service based organization vendors.

World’s Longest Doughnut

Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Closing Event

The government funded a Commemoration initiative, which consisted of events, projects and memorials on a national and community level. The commission has held events in seven Canadian cities, as part of its mandate to publicly address the experiences of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit children in residential schools across the country. Prince Albert Collegiate Institute High School, is hosting the second annual Literacy and Lifestyle Fair on June 4th, 2015.  High school students within the Prince Albert community will have the opportunity to engage in a day full of purposeful workshops related to living a healthy lifestyle now and beyond high school. The workshops will focus on; physical fitness, nutrition, budgeting, car/student loans, simple vehicle mechanics, entrepreneurship, healthy relationships, cultural experiences, and many more.

National Aboriginal Day Celebration

The Prairie South School Division in partners with the Moose Jaw Police Service and the Wakamow Aboriginal Community Association presents National Aboriginal Day Celebration in Moose Jaw on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Crescent Park Ampitheater.  We start the day with a pipe ceremony at 7:00 am, followed by a free pancake breakfast at 8:00 am.
